- Origins of Disease Soul Medicine - The Healing of Body and Soul TheIn Soul Medicine·January 6, 2023The origins of disease can be traced to the three foci of fear or core traumas in the human psyche, which according to the Talmud are symbolized by the wolf, the lion, and the snake. A man was on a journey and a wolf attacked him, but he escaped unharmed. Continuing his journey, he told the story of the wolf until a lion attacked him and he escaped unharmed. Continuing his journey, he told the story of the lion until a snake attacked him and he escaped unharmed. He then forgot about the first two assaults and told only the story of the snake. While all of these fears are ultimately the fear of death, in particular each one fears death from another "angle." The first, the fear of the wolf, is associated in particular with the fear of rape or any form of sexual molestation. In the Torah, we are taught that Divine punishment reflects the nature of the sin. Our sages liken the punishment of this sin to a wolf entering and devouring a flock of sheep, explicitly relating the wolf-image to "prostitution." From this, we may understand that sexual lust as well as the fear of sexual abuse relates to the image of the wolf (threatening the sheep). The Fear of the Wolf or the Fear of Rape The fear of rape refers in an extended way to any compulsory invasion of oneself by something other than oneself. This fear of the other forcing himself upon oneself exists on all levels, both physically and psychologically. While primarily a feminine manifestation of fear, the fear of the wolf and all of its implications can also manifest itself in the male–a man can also possess to a certain degree the fear of rape. The labeling of this fear as feminine only refers to the fact that is more predominant and pronounced in women. Finally, the association of the wolf to the rapist is not restricted to the Talmud, but can be found in modern media as well where the rapist is often symbolized as a wolf. The Fear of the Lion or the Fear of Death The lion is linked to the primal fear of murder. A person who is faced with the attack of a lion will feel intense panic in his heart, fearing that he will be consumed by the lion who will devour his flesh. The Fear of the Snake or the Fear of Insanity The snake represents the fear of insanity, in which the venom of the snake goes directly to the brain. We find that (temporary) insanity is the cause of all sin–losing one's mind or a loss of attention to one's deeds opens up the possibility of sin, for if a person were truly to know what he was doing, would he be aware of the implications and consequences of his act, he would never sin. In the words of our sages, "no one commits a sin unless he has been overtaken by temporary insanity [literally, 'a spirit of folly']." This is alluded to in the Talmudic passage quoted above, in which the man on the journey forgets his previous traumas only when attacked by the snake (it is not stated that he forgets the story of the wolf when attacked by the lion); only the trauma of the snake directly affects the mind to the extent that all previous impressions are blotted out. To summarize: snake - fear of insanity lion - fear of murder wolf -fear of rape Do you think you would benefit for a Personal Session with Rabbi Perets in order to address your fundamental Fear?0011

- Can Noahide Celebrate Sukkot? In Sukkot·September 21, 2023The Haftarah for the first day of Sukkot is the prophecy of Zecharya concerning the war of Gog and Magog, which will climax with the final redemption and acknowledgment by the nations that Hashem alone is the King, and that Israel is His people. This realization will be celebrated on Sukkot, for, according to the prophecy, the surviving nations will join the Jewish people every year in celebrating the Sukkot festival. Zecharya’s reference to the sukkah is an allegory. He does not mean that in Messianic times the Noahides will be obligated to eat in the sukkah together with the Jew, and be punished if he does not fulfill the mitzvah. He means that the Noahides will be expected to practice the lesson conveyed by the mitzvot of the festival of Sukkot. They must forsake their striving for selfish gain and replace it with a sense of responsibility and sharing of privileges with all of humanity. Hence, Zecharya’s words, “Lo ya’alu lachog et chag haSukkot” — “They have refused to go up to celebrate the festival of Sukkot” — can be explained to mean that they have refused to elevate themselves spiritually and realize the message that Sukkot teaches humanity.0031

- What are the First Steps? In Road-Map for NoahidesMarch 3, 2024Thank you for being so thorough, Rabbi Perets, in the creation of this course, especially for Step #2 above. For some reason I thought that it was only a Jewish maternal mother and grandmother. Although, I do question some of the names as far back as the 4th and 5th generation on the maternal side. Perhaps, just hopeful thinking. 🤗00
- Participating in idolatrous rituals vs. family gatheringIn Questions & AnswersAugust 2, 2022For the information for Noahides in Japan. The Buddhism faction of my family is Johdo-Shinshu faction. Burning incense is a common rite in Buddhism ceremony. This may be for the deceased or to deterrent the bad odor in other Buddhism factions, but in Johdo-Shinshu faction, burning incense is only for honoring the highest-rank Buddha, Amida. (In Buddhism, human beings who found the "truth" become Buddha, an existence transcending the material world. I'm not sure Buddha is a deity, but in Japan, Buddhism was traditionally mixed with a traditional animism, Shinto.) A Johdo-Shinshu altar is commonly equipped with Buddhism statues or tapestry writing "I turn to Amida".00

- Participating in idolatrous rituals vs. family gatheringIn Questions & AnswersAugust 1, 2022Right Tadamasa-san. The exception is valid, unless there will be continuous idol worshipping and consumption of food prepared to idols. - "Fish has to swim!"In Ambassadors·January 17, 2024Eating fish during Shabbat or fridayevening, also known as "Fish must swim", is a beloved tradition for some including myself. The idea behind it is that when you use dairy products for the Friday night meal, you choose not to eat meat, but instead put fish on the table. This can be a refreshing and tasty change for those who adhere to the dietary regulations set forth in the Torah and are intended for Jews, but who are certainly optional for a Noahide, let's say "kosher style" food. The main concept behind this tradition is to avoid mixing milk and meat during a meal. According to Jewish food law, which is known as kashrut, dairy products and meat products are strictly separated. This includes not only combining these ingredients in one dish, but also preparing and serving milk and meat products separately. If you choose to use dairy products during Friday evenings, such as eating Challes (a flour offering is not what a Noahide is commanded to do, but did I hear that in the days of the Temple a piece of dough was also given to the Cohen Gadol?) made from milk and butter, it is strongly advised to avoid meat. For this reason, fish can be an excellent alternative. Fish is not categorized as meat in nutritional law or kashrut described in the Torah and therefore it can be eaten as part of a meal with dairy products. Fish is not only a suitable option due to its adherence to dietary regulations, but it can also be a delicious addition to the Friday night meal. Whether you choose humble canned tuna or delicious salmon trout, there are countless options for preparing fish in a tasty way. Seafood dishes are often light and refreshing, making them a perfect pairing for a sandwich like Challes. Serving fish at the Friday night meal also offers a chance to get creative with your dishes. You can experiment with different herbs and spices to create unique flavors. In addition, there are many healthy benefits associated with eating fish, such as the high content of omega-3 fatty acids and various vitamins and minerals that are good for your body. So,(http://body.So) the next time you're using dairy products for Friday night, consider putting mackerel or a pot of roast herring on the table. It is a delicious and nutritious alternative to meat dishes and it fits perfectly within the dietary regulations outlined in the Torah, an option for us Noahide. Whether you opt for a simple tuna salad or an elaborate salmon trout dish, fish is sure to be a welcome addition to the Friday night table. In any case, it should be clear that making a sandwich does not necessarily have to be Challes, it can also be a homemade sandwich based on milk. "Let fish swim, but especially on the Friday evenings!008
