All the rest is commentary...

At first, I found deep reflection on Hillel’s ‘What is hateful to you, do not do to your neighbor. That is the whole Torah; the rest is commentary’ liberating, because it opened up who my ‘neighbor’ could be (specifically, no need to filter based on denomination). But it also brings a loneliness, because it doesn't create belonging. Is anyone else feeling a little isolated, and if so how do you manage it?

Yes I get that way at times but I try to stay busy learning the Parsha from various YouTube videos. I continue to learn from Rebbetzin Esther Jungreis old videos on the Parsha, as well as Torah anytime videos, Tenak Talk videos among others. Also reading Orchos Tzaddikum and Every Day Holiness for Mussar practice currently. All this helps to keep me busy. I try to stay away from debates with the few Christian friends and family that still talk to me. I know that I don’t need their approval on my faith but I can’t stay in a room and lock the door. I need human interaction. I try to be kind to everyone and only engage in faith discussions if asked about my beliefs. I always preface my answer to faith questions with “I dont expect you to understand because I was in your shoes at one time and i did not understand. When you search for God with your whole heart you will find him. That takes everyday study with good teachers and JC even defined who those teachers are….rabbis or “those who sit in the seat of Moses”…as he said in book of Matthew.” This usually challenges my inquisitors and when i tell them how much i studied and how i prayed to Hashem that He please show me the truth when i was unsure of some suspect Christian practices, this usually shuts them up or they continue to debate. I just tell them to pray to Hashem alone and ask for the truth and Hashem will show them but they need to be open to receiving the truth.
