Fulfill His commandments with Joy.

For September 16, 2022

Tehillim - Psalms 100:2

עִבְד֣וּ אֶת־יְהֹוָ֣ה בְּשִׂמְחָ֑ה בֹּ֥אוּ לְ֝פָנָ֗יו בִּרְנָנָֽה

"Serve G-d and fulfill His commandments happily. Come to Him with songs of joy."

Because we know that G-d rewards, we will praise and thank Him when we observe and keep His commandments.

Joy in observing and keeping G-d's commandments can also come from knowing that it pleases G-d when we do His commandments. His joy is our reward, is our joy.

Joy can also mean wrapping the commandment you do in joy. There can always be circumstances in your life that make you sad. It can make you observe a commandment out of habit, or because you think you have to, but without joy.

To teach yourself to be aware that G-d gives everything for good, even the difficulties or tests in life, make you try to do every commandment, however sad you may feel at times, with joy.

Then the joy returns.
