Why Is the Intellectual Capacity of Humanity so Enormous

Updated: Aug 23, 2022

"It isn't possible for a reasonable person to think that the purpose of man's creation is totally fulfilled in this material world." (Ramchal, Path of the Just, Chapter 1)

If you see a child dressed in a coat whose sleeves are way too long and drags on the floor, it's obvious he has put on his father's clothes. This coat was clearly not designed for the child.

So too, when we see the enormity of mankind's intellectual capacity and ability to appreciate spiritual concepts, it's obvious that we were created for more than just the fulfillment of instinctual needs and physical pleasures (The Steipler Gaon).
