A girl/woman can only by fully married when both partners have the status of adults, at which point their cohabitation can be for the purpose of marriage.


If a father marries off his minor daughter, she has the status of betrothal until she reaches legal majority for marriage. And it is forbidden for another man to cohabit with her.
