Tehillim - Psalms 97:1
יְהֹוָ֣ה מָ֭לָךְ תָּגֵ֣ל הָאָ֑רֶץ יִ֝שְׂמְח֗וּ אִיִּ֥ים רַבִּֽים׃
"When the Redemption arrives, everyone will see that G-d has always ruled as king, and the earth will rejoice. The many islands of the world will be happy."
G-d is the Almighty King who rules over everything, controls everything and does everything for the better. However, this is not always visible and obvious to everyone. Especially not when life has its challenges or when looking at suffering visible on earth. But in the end when we look back on everything in retrospect, we will all see G-d's hand in everything and know that it was He who was ruling everything perfectly all along.
It is we humans - every human, people of this world admittedly, who will recognise that. But why then is the verse not simply talking about people, but about the world and then islands.
Rashi: the earth will exult This is what Ezekiel said (35:14): “When the whole earth rejoices, I shall make you desolate.” He prophesied this concerning Amalek.
Amalek to be defeated, Amalek to be totally destroyed. Amalek is one of the greatest enemies of faith in G-d. Indeed, it is completely the opposite. It is not even "more" faith in an idol. That people - though mistaken to whom they give their worship - have forgotten even the total sense of Divinity and awareness of a Divine Being. It is the "god" of our time - Atheism. The belief that everything is chance, the belief that everything can be controlled by man himself. This will be completely destroyed all over the earth, even in the smallest bits - the islands - nowhere will there be a place where people can deny G-d anymore.
